What is Lipo Cavitation?

After a couple of years of staying indoors, there’s now no excuse not to help our “lockdown bodies”.

While every Spring typically involves a little pre-summer body prep, this one follows years of tracksuit-clad hibernation, so may involve an extra effort to rediscover that long-lost feeling of being ready to take on the world.

If this sounds familiar, fear not. I have the very latest sculpting and toning treatments and tech to help you feel like you (just a bit better) again.

With A-listers and reality TV stars seemingly sporting a washboard flat stomach shortly after giving birth, it is no surprise that Mummy Tummy makeovers remain the most popular fat reduction treatment.

Back on planet Earth, more than half of new mothers (who were surveyed for a parenting magazine) said they were unhappy with their shape after giving birth. This number does not get any less as the years wear on (you can trust me on that one).

Despite dieting and exercise... certain areas stubbornly refuse to 'snap back into shape'

Well…….

Welcome to Lipo cavitation!

This treatment is lauded as a “lunch break procedure,” meaning that your treatment is completed in less than an hour. You can drive immediately afterward, and you can even return directly to work after having it done. It’s painless, permanent and targetable. Meaning you get to choose the area we work on.

How does ultrasonic cavitation work?

Ultrasonic cavitation relies on ultrasound technology to break apart fat cells.

Ultrasound waves are sent deep into the layers of your skin, causing a disruptive vibration.

After we record your vital statistics (to measure your amazing progress!) you lie down and a clear gel is applied to the area of concern. We use a smooth, ultrasound hand piece which can penetrate the skin to a depth of approximately 8-9mm. This is just deep enough to reach the subcutaneous fat layer.

You’ll hear the sound of crickets in your ears as the ultrasound waves pass along your body. (No one else will hear this… it’s your personal confirmation that the treatment is working!)

The ultrasonic sound waves cause low pressure bubbles to form within the fat cells, known as adipocytes, the cell membranes rupture and release their contents into the space between

the fat cells, the interstitial space. The adipocytes are pulverized, this causes the cell

membranes to rupture and forces the fat cell to release their contents. Fat cells contain fatty acids, triglycerides and water which then spill out from the broken cell membranes and are released into the interstitial space.

After a few days, the fat cells are absorbed by your lymphatic system and drained as waste from your body.

Within 48 hours after treatment, some form of cardio vascular exercise is

advised to raise your heart rate, to increase the metabolic rate, this ensures the best results from treatment. So go for a walk, get your steps up!

You will see results from your very first session however a course of 8 is recommended for full and effective results.

Cavitation is a great means of reminding your body about those long dormant fat deposits that no amount of exercise seems to be able to target.
