September has crept up on me this year… last time I looked, it was June … where did the summer go?
However, I am looking forward to a new season and that means it is time to get booked in for a chemical peel!
Why is now the best time to get started on your peel treatments?
There are several really great reasons:
Chemical peels are great for treating so many skin conditions. Lines and wrinkles, age spots. Blemishes. Acne scarring, pigmentation…they really are the all round hero treatment!
Whether you opt for a superficial peel or a medium depth one, you do not want to risk going out in the sun or subjecting your skin to too much heat afterwards. Autumn and winter are perfect as we naturally stay indoors a bit more and the amount of sun and UV waves we are exposed to is a lot less.
If you tend to hibernate and cover up with scarves and hats from October until party season, now is the perfect time to get your first peel as your skin will recover and you can start on your Winter treatment regime, allowing your gorgeous new skin to uncover just in time for the festive period. Now that really is magical!
Another really good reason to start your peels now is that over the Summer, we tend to naturally secrete more oils, collect dirt and debris as well as dead skin. By the time we get to Autumn you can be looking grey, dull and dry. A fabulous Autumn peel can slough off all of the dead skin cells leaving you with brighter, rejuvenated fresh looking skin.
What is not to love?
Chemical peels are a great way to deal with sun damaged skin, too. If you have overdone the sun exposure (naughty!) a peel is just what you are looking for to give you smoother, healthier looking skin.
A Chemical peel will rid your skin of the dead skin cells that are just lying there, making you look dull and older than your years.
As we hit peak central heating season, you will want your moisturiser and serum products to be absorbed properly and not just stick to that dead skin (making you look ten times worse!)
